Women's Golf Wraps Up Trip in Wisconsin

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team closed out action at the two-day, 54-hole Whistling Straits Intercollegiate in Sheboygan, Wis. on Tuesday, ending the day in ninth place.

The Crusaders shot a final round score of 354 for their ninth-place finish. Richmond remained in the lead throughout the tournament, finishing with a final team score of 967.

Senior Sibil Gill (Kokomo, Ind./Western) led Valpo throughout both days, posting a final round of 87 to finish the day tied for 23rd place overall with a score of 255. Junior Angie Kim (Schaumburg, Ill./Fremd) ended round three tied with Gill with a score of 87, giving her a total two-day score of 258, tied for 26th position.

Junior Sydney Shrum (Cloverdale, Ind./Cloverdale) tied for 37th after shooting a 91 on Tuesday, bringing her total score to 267. Shrum finished one shot ahead of freshman teammate Madison McCreary (Batesville, Ind./Batesville), who shot an 89 on Tuesday and finished in 41st place. Senior Annie Gaugert (Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger) rounded out the Crusaders’ team score with a total of 270, placing her 43rd overall. 

Valparaiso closes out the fall season in two weeks at the Braun Intercollegiate in Evansville, Ind. Live scoring will be available via ValpoAthletics.com.
