Valparaiso University women’s golf sophomore Anna Fay (Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills) was recognized for her academic and athletic prowess on Friday as she was named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete First Team.
Fay, who owns a 4.00 cumulative grade point average in bioengineering, golfed in eight tournaments and was second on the team with a scoring average of 81.55. She had a season-low 72 in the first round of Ball State’s Cardinal Classic in September, tying for the sixth-best 18-hole score in program history with the program’s best round since 2015.
Fay finished in the top 20 at the MVC Championship with a 54-hole score of 241. She was a member of MVC Academic Honor Roll and earned Valparaiso University Presidential Academic honors. Fay finished her sophomore season with a career scoring average of 81.23 that currently ranks second in program history.
