Crusaders Open Exhibition Play at Cincinnati
Kristen Warner found the back of the net for the Crusaders on Friday.

The Valparaiso women's soccer team opened up exhibition play on Friday evening in Cincinnati, Ohio, falling to host Cincinnati by a 4-1 final score.

The Crusaders tallied their lone goal on a nice strike from senior Kristen Warner (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard South) in the 17th minute to knot up the match at one goal apiece.  Warner gathered a loose ball on the right side of the 18-yard box and drilled a shot into the upper-right corner of the net to equalize.

Valpo would not be able to hold off its AAC opponent, however, as the Bearcats scored in the 10th, 24th and 25th minutes to go up 3-1 at the end of the first of three 30-minute periods.  Cincinnati added a final goal in the 49th minute to close out the scoring.

Valparaiso closes out exhibition action Sunday morning versus St. Joseph's (Ind.) at 10 a.m.  The match has been moved to Eastgate Field.
