Valparaiso University women’s soccer senior Grace Rogers (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury) has been named a First Team CoSIDA Academic All-District V honoree, as announced by the organization this week. With the accolade, Rogers is now eligible for Academic All-American consideration.
Rogers was an Honorable Mention All-Missouri Valley Conference selection this year as a senior in Valpo’s first year as a Valley institution. She tied for third among all conference players, setting a new Valpo single-season record in the process with her helper in the MVC Tournament match at Loyola. Rogers also closed her career as the Crusaders’ all-time record holder for career assists with 15 assists. She started 18 of Valpo’s 19 matches this season and was part of a defensive unit which surrendered just 25 goals in 19 matches.
In the classroom, Rogers has excelled throughout her time at Valpo, as she owns a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA as a double major in actuarial science and business analytics. She was a member of the Horizon League’s Academic All-League team last year as a junior and earned a spot on the league’s Academic Honor Roll each semester eligible.
To be eligible for Academic All-District and Academic All-America, student-athletes must hold at least sophomore status, own a minimum grade-point average of 3.30, and be either a starter or key reserve. District V consists of schools in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Ohio.
