Valparaiso University senior forward Cory Griffith (Lemont, Ill./Providence Catholic) was named a Missouri Valley Conference First Team Scholar-Athlete today as the conference office released the women’s soccer Scholar-Athlete squads.

Griffith repeated as a First Team All-MVC honoree this year  as she finished the 2018 season third in the MVC in both goals scored (eight; tied for eighth-most in a single season in program history) and points (17). She closed out her Valpo career as the program's all-time leader in game-winning goals with 12, and ranks second in program history with 29 career goals and 65 career points.

In the classroom, Griffith carries a 3.77 cumulative GPA as a marketing major. This is the second straight season she has been named an MVC First Team Scholar-Athlete, while last year, she was also a United Soccer Coaches Second Team Scholar All-Region choice.
