Five Valpo Women Named to Mid-Con Second Team

Valparaiso University landed five women on the Mid-Continent Conference Swimming and Diving Second Team following the conference championships this past weekend.

Ashley Seale (Maryville, Tenn./Maryville H.S.) earned the accolade following her runner-up finish in the 100 butterfly. The sophomore touched the wall in 59.84 seconds. She also finished in seventh place in the 100 breaststroke with a mark of 1:10.91 and fifth in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:15.67.

Allison Clark (Shorewood, Wis./Shorewood H.S.), Britt Nelson (Cortland, N.Y./Homer H.S.), Leah Schneider (Sussex, Wis./Arrowhead H.S.), and Katie Urbas (Ballwin, Mo./Marquette H.S.) all earned the honor as members of the second place 800 freestyle relay team that finished with a time of 8:05.39.

Clark also finished third in the 400 IM (4:48.74) and was fourth in the 200 breast with a time of 2:28.74. Nelson was fourth in the 1650 free, finishing in 18:24.93 and fifth in the 500 free (5:19.47).

Schneider earned a third place finish in the 100 butterfly, touching the wall in 1:00.02, while also placing ninth in the 200 free (2:00.09). Urbas finished third in the 200 fly (2:13.88) and was sixth in the 500 free (5:24.76) and the 100 fly (1:01.07).
