Valparaiso University's Britt Nelson (Cortland, N.Y./Homer H.S.) has earned her second straight Athlete of the Week award from the Mid-Continent Conference for her weekend's performances.

The junior won three events on Friday evening in Valpo's victory over Lewis. She was first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:03.02, and then followed that up with a win in the 500 free. Her time of 5:17.54 was more than six seconds faster than her nearest competitor. Nelson then capped off the day as a member of the victorious 400 relay which turned in a time of 4:15.46.

On Saturday against Wisconsin-Green Bay, Nelson added one more victory to her weekend's total, setting a new school record in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:39.16. The time is the fastest in the Mid-Con this season, and bettered Valpo's old school mark by more than five seconds.
