Cleveland State Defeats Valpo Women

Valparaiso dropped a 127-96 decision to Cleveland State on Saturday afternoon as the Crusaders traveled to Cleveland, Ohio.

Andi Ticknor (North Vernon, Ind./Jennings County H.S.) recorded the lone Crusader wins on the day, doing so in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events. The freshman recorded a score of 176.7 on the one-meter board and 146.85 on the three-meter board.

Amanda Gregory (Carmel, Ind./Carmel H.S.) and Allison Clark (Shorewood, Wis./Shorewood H.S.) each posted a pair of runner-up finishes on the afternoon. Gregory tied with teammate Rachel Korellis (Champaign, Ill./Centennial H.S.) for second in the 50m freestyle with a time of 25.85 seconds. She also was runner-up in the 200 butterfly, touching the wall in 2:20.32.

Clark placed second in the 400 individual medley, touching the wall in 4:53.52, and was also second in the 200 breaststroke with a mark of 2:34.37.

Britt Nelson (Cortland, N.Y./Homer H.S.) finished second in the 200 free for the Brown and Gold with a time of 2:03.28, while Maggie Kroemer (Brown Deer, Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran H.S.) earned the same finish in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:20.32 Lauren Bambach (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman H.S.) also finished second for Valpo in the 200 backstroke with her time of 2:16.97.

Valpo (2-6) will conclude its dual meet season next Sunday with double dual in Indianapolis, Ind. against both Butler and Saint Louis.
