Valpo Drops Dual Meet to Cleveland State

Despite a victory from Amanda Gregory (Carmel, Ind./Carmel H.S.), Valparaiso could not overcome Cleveland State, falling to the Vikings 140-55 Friday evening at the Athletics-Recreation Center pool.

Gregory's win came in the 200 freestyle, where she touched the wall in 2:00.26, a scant .18 of a second ahead of her nearest competitor. Gregory's time marks the fastest in the event by a Crusader this season.

Tina Vande Vusse (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West H.S.) brought home two runner-up finishes for the Brown and Gold. Vande Vusse notched a second in the 50 free, with a time of 25.54, and followed it up with a second in the 100 free in 55.62.

Valparaiso (1-10) returns to the pool Saturday afternoon, taking on Eastern Illinois at the Athletics-Recreation Center pool at 2 p.m. Please note this time is changed from the original schedule.
