Valpo's Dangremond Named U.S. Army Horizon League Scholar-Athlete of the Week

Valparaiso University swimmer Shaunna Dangremond (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino H.S.) has been named this week’s U.S. Army Scholar-Athlete of the Week after winning five events last weekend while leading the Crusaders to two victories.

The sophomore opened the weekend against Cleveland State on Friday as a member of the winning 200 medley relay as well as won the 400 individual medley by more than four seconds with a time of 4:53.25.

In Sunday’s tri-meet victories over IUPUI and Butler, Dangremond’s 200 medley relay again posted a victory.  She also added individual wins in the 50 and 200 backstroke events.

In the classroom, Dangremond is a finance and Spanish major carrying a 3.83 grade point average.  She has been a member of the Dean’s List at Valpo and was named to the Horizon League’s Fall Academic Honor Roll.
