Valparaiso’s women’s swim team dropped both ends of a double dual meet on Friday evening, suffering a 148-78 loss to Wright State as well as a 137-111 setback against Butler in Dayton, Ohio.
Natalie Jarrett (Lebanon, Ind./Western Boone H.S.) earned three top-three finishes on the day for the Brown and Gold. She finished second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.21. The junior added the third fastest time of the day in the 100 butterfly, touching the wall in 1:05.14. She also had the third quickest mark in the 200 individual medley, posting a time of 2:18.34.
Laura Rickey (Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth-Roseville H.S.) added a third place effort in the 50 backstroke with a time of 31.04 seconds while Stephanie Ferschl (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago H.S.) placed third in the 500 freestyle. She finished in 5:35.50, just .07 seconds out of second place.
Valparaiso (1-6) returns to action on November 19 and 20 at the Coers Invitational hosted by Ball State in Muncie, Ind.
