Valparaiso’s women’s swim team finished in fourth place on Saturday at the Indiana Intercollegiates held at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center in West Lafayette, Ind.

The Crusaders tallied 190 points on the afternoon, trailing champion and meet host Purdue (785), IUPUI (322), and Indianapolis (306).

Natalie Jarrett (Lebanon, Ind./Western Boone H.S.) finished sixth in the 200 individual medley, touching the wall in 2:16.28 while Flavia Segatto (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Charleow Flanigan H.S.) placed 10th in the same event with her mark of 2:19.58.

Jarrett also finished sixth in the 100 breaststroke with a mark of 1:10.44.  Makenna Cannon (Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine H.S.) added a seventh place finish in the event with a time of 1:14.30 while Alex Caruthers (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard H.S.) placed ninth finishing in 1:15.48.

Andrea Bretl (Wauwatosa, Wis./West H.S.) added a sixth place effort of her own in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:35.22.

Ali Taubert (Bloomington, Ill./University H.S.) posted a ninth place finish for the Brown and Gold in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:06.89 before adding an eighth place mark in the 100 free later in the afternoon with a time of 58.50 seconds.  Justine Barnes (Rochester Hills, Mich./Adams H.S.) also finished 10th in the 100 free with her time of 59.77 seconds.

Valparaiso will be off from competition for nearly a month before returning to the water on Nov. 12 with a triangular meet in Cleveland, Ohio with Cleveland State and Saint Bonaventure.
