Several season-best times were not enough to propel the Crusaders to a victory against the Green Bay Phoenix Saturday afternoon as they fell 128-68 at the ARC.
The contingent of Ciara Lightner (Dixon, Ill./Dixon), Makenna Cannon (Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine), Lauren Knop (Geneva, Ill./Geneva), and Erin McBride (St. Louis, Mo,/Webster Groves) improved their 200 medley relay time from last week with a 1:52.21 finish, good for second.
Flavia Segatto (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Charelow Flanigan) also knocked nine seconds off her 1000 freestyle time from a month ago at IUPUI. Her 10:47.15 time earned her second place in the first event of a strong day for the sophomore. Later, Segatto was two-tenths of a second shy of another second-place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:15.34), settling for third place behind Green Bay's Melissa Killpatrick.
Senior Justine Barnes (Rochester Hills, Mich./Adams) lowered her season-best 100 butterfly time to under a minute (59.75) good for second-place.
Green Bay finished first in every event en route to the 60-point defeat. The Crusaders return to the pool Friday, January 11th when they host UIC at the ARC.
