Valpo women’s swimming sophomore Haley Hume (Ballwin, Mo./Marquette) represented the Beacons as the Missouri Valley Conference announced its 2023 Scholar-Athlete Team on Thursday.

In the classroom, Hume owns a 3.993 cumulative grade point average as a mechanical engineering major. She was named to the MVC Academic Honor Roll last year.

In the pool, Hume ranked among Valpo’s top-three swimmers in six different individual events this season. At the MVC Championships, she was a member of a trio of relay squads which cracked Valpo’s all-time top-10 list in their respective events, while also pacing the Beacons individually in the 100 free.
