Kim Sajevic (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury H.S.) posted a three-set victory in the deciding match on Sunday afternoon as Valparaiso improved to 2-0 on the season with a 4-3 victory over Bradley in Peoria, Ill.

Sajevic's 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (8-6) victory at fourth singles gave Valpo the thrilling victory and completed a perfect opening weekend for the Crusaders.

Valpo won the doubles point to start the match as Rachel Janssen (Fort Wayne, Ind./Dwenger H.S.) and Kate Evangelist (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West H.S.) were 8-5 winners at the top of the order and Sajevic and Whitney Chada (Downers Grove, Ill./North H.S.) posted an 8-6 win at the second spot.

After the Braves won the first two singles contests, Evangelist evened the match with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at the second singles position. Bradley (1-2) won fifth singles to move within one point of clinching the match, but Janssen's 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 win at first singles tied the contest, setting the stage for Sajevic's deciding point.

Valparaiso (2-0) will host Eastern Illinois next Saturday at Homewood-Flossmoor beginning at 9 a.m.
