Kathleen Hebble (Sellersburg, Ind./Silver Creek) collected a commanding straight-set win at No. 2 singles, but it wasn't enough as the host Raiders defeated the Brown and Gold 6-1 at the Dayton Center Courts in Ohio on Saturday afternoon.

Wright State's Elaine Cloem/Linsey Verstrepen opened the day's action with a 6-2 win over Kaitlyn Hamel (Lakewood, Colo./Green Mountain) and Hebble at No. 1 doubles. Vanessa Madrigal and Megan Brdicka clinched the doubles point for the Raiders following their 6-4 defeat of Megan Barthels (Grand Rapids, Mich./Catholic Central) and Michele Fredlake (South Bend, Ind./Saint Joseph's) at No. 3.

Karoline Haller gave WSU a 2-0 lead after she picked up a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Paige Heuer (Munster, Ind./Munster). Hebble's fourth triumph of the season sliced the deficit in half for Valpo. She defeated Aby Madrigal 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2.

Tori Turner put Wright State on top 3-1 at No. 3 thanks to a 6-3, 6-1 win against Cary Milanes (Miami, Fla./Miami Palmetto). Verstrepen secured the W for the Raiders by virtue of a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Barthels at No. 5.

Hamel took the first set in her match against Vanessa Madrigal atop singles play, but the Raider sophomore rallied back to register a 2-6, 6-0, 6-4 triumph. Cloem concluded play with a 6-0, 6-1 defeat of Fredlake at No. 6.

Valpo (2-10, 0-2 Horizon) will stay in Dayton to face the Flyers (4-7) on Sunday at 12 pm ET/11 am CT.
