The Valparaiso University women’s tennis program has announced its team awards for the 2021 season.


Olivia Czerwonka Named to MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team, Claire Czerwonka Receives Honorable Mention

After playing a key role in the Valparaiso University women’s tennis team finishing with its highest single-season win total in 14 years, sisters Olivia and Claire Czerwonka (Kenosha, Wis. / Saint Joseph Catholic Academy) were recognized for their performance on the court and in the classroom as the Missouri Valley Conference announced its Scholar-Athlete teams on Tuesday.


Women’s Tennis Season Concludes Best Season in 14 Years

The Valparaiso University women’s tennis team saw its season reach its conclusion on Friday as host Missouri State prevailed 4-1 in a clinch-clinch format in the first round of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in Springfield, Mo. Senior Claire Czerwonka (Kenosha, Wis. / Saint Joseph Catholic Academy) garnered a victory at No. 1 singles in the season’s final match. She plans to return next season for her additional year of eligibility granted by the NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver with hopes of continuing to rewrite the program record book.


Olivia Czerwonka Named to MVC All-Select Team

Valparaiso University women’s tennis sophomore Olivia Czerwonka (Kenosha, Wis. / Saint Joseph Catholic Academy) was named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Select Team on Thursday as the league announced its postseason honors in advance of this weekend’s MVC Tournament.


Valpo Wins Doubles Point, Olivia Czerwonka Corrals Singles Victory on Sunday

The Valparaiso University women’s tennis team got off to a strong start on Sunday afternoon at the Valpo Tennis Complex by collecting the doubles point, but visiting Bradley rebounded for a 5-2 victory in the regular season finale. This marked Valpo’s first home outdoor match of the season.
