Seven Crusaders Earn All-Conference Honors

Valparaiso placed three members of its women's indoor track and field team on the All Mid-Continent Conference Team following the completion of the conference championships held this weekend.

Holly Hagen (Hobart, Ind./Hobart H.S.), Emilie Marsicek (Spalding, Mich./Carney-Nadeau H.S.), and Melanie Wilson (Saint Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain H.S.) all received recognition from the league office for their individual efforts at the meet.

In addition, the distance medley relay of Mary Frisch (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.), Rachel Nelson (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit H.S.), Jennifer Plaskota (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley H.S.), and Kristy Popp (Bowman, N.D./Bowman H.S.) received All-Conference honors.

Hagen finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 52'6 ¾" while finishing fourth in the shot put with a heave of 41'2 ¼". Marsicek finished third in the shot with a mark of 43'6" and was also sixth in the weight (44'8 ¼"). Wilson finished second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.00 seconds, a new school mark. She also was runner-up in the triple jump, with a school record leap of 38'4". The distance medley relay finished third with a time of 13:11.74.
