Nunnelly and Rolf Compete at Prestigious Meyo Invitational

Danielle Nunnelly (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.) broke the five-minute barrier in the mile for the first time in her collegiate career as she competed alongside Laura Rolf (Rochester, Mich./Lutheran Northwest H.S.) at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Nunnelly crossed the line in 4:57.31, good for 12th out of a field of 36, featuring many runners from Big Ten and Big 12 schools. Rolf also posted a career-best time in the mile, coming home 17th with a time of 5:01.72.

Valparaiso returns to meet action next weekend, traveling to Kenosha, Wis. to take part in the Carthage Pepsi Challenge. The one-day meet begins Saturday, February 11 at noon.
