Drozdowski Earns HL Weekly Accolade After First Career Meet
Sarah Drozdowski was honored by the Horizon League office.

After a stellar performance in her first career meet, Valparaiso freshman Sarah Drozdowski (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park) has been named the Horizon League Female Field Athlete of the Week.

Drozdowski made her Crusader debut one to remember last Saturday at Illinois State’s Early Bird Open.  The freshman became just the second Valpo athlete in program history to crack the 50-foot barrier in the weight throw, registering a toss of 50’0 ¾” to place sixth in the event.  Drozdowski now trails only Holly Hagen on Valpo’s all-time chart in the event.  She also posted an 11th-place finish in the shot put with an effort of 37’3 ¼” on Saturday.

Drozdowski and the rest of the Crusaders return to action after the holiday season, as their next meet is set for Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Bob Eubanks Open in Allendale, Mich.
