The Valparaiso women’s track and field teams continued their busy January with their fourth meet in as many weeks as they took to competition in the Findlay Open on Friday.
Jazmin Taylor (Rock Island, Ill./Rock Island) tied her career-best and top Valpo mark of 1.69m/5-6.5 to take third in the high jump.
Heather Mende (St. Charles Ill.) blazed her way to sixth place and season best in the 60 meter dash with her 8.37. She also took 11th in the 200m with her season best 28.07.
Hannah Reynard (Jackson, Mich./Napoleon) finished in eighth place in the 200m (27.61) and fifth place in the 400m (1:00.42).
Sarah Peters (LaGrange, Ill./Lyons Township) took fifth in the pole vault (3.40m/11-1.75).
Ann Chapman (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) finished second in the triple jump (9.89m/32-5.5) and 11th in the long jump (4.45m/14-7.25)
Megan Howdeshell (Bourbon, Ind./Triton Junior-Senior) took seventh in the shot put with her toss of 11.17m/36-7.75 on her final attempt and finished in 17th in the weight throw (14.02m/46-0)
The Crusaders return to the track next weekend at the Meyo Invite in South Bend, Ind. and the Windy City Invitational in Chicago.
