The Valparaiso men’s and women’s track and field teams sent a small contingent of field athletes to the Grand Valley State 2^nd to Last Chance Invitational in Allendale, Mich. on Friday.

Junior Jacob Smutz (West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) finished in sixth in the men’s hammer throw with a toss of 55.10m/180-9 on his first attempt.

Sophomore Justin Zosso (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) cleared 4.81m/15-9.25 in the men’s pole vault on his second attempt to finish in a tie for fifth place.

Junior Sarah Peters (LaGrange, Ill./Lyons Township) cleared 3.37m/11-0.75 in the women’s pole vault on her first attempt to finish in a tie for 19^th.
