The Valparaiso men’s and women’s track and field teams sent a small group of jumpers and throwers to the North Central College Gregory Invitational in Naperville, Ill. on Thursday.

Senior Sarah Drozdowski (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park) took home the title in the hammer throw with her toss of 55.23m/181-2, overtaking Madison Haasy on Heidelberg by almost two feet on her last throw.

Sophomore Justin Zosso (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) finished second in the men’s pole vault, clearing 4.93m/16-2. In the men’s hammer throw, senior Jacob Frey (St. Paul, Minn./Roseville Area) took fifth with his toss of 56.73m/186-1.  

Senior Jazmin Taylor (Rock Island, Ill./Rock Island) finished sixth in the women’s high jump with a height of 1.59m/5-2.5 while junior Sarah Peters (LaGrange, Ill./Lyons Township) finished eighth in the women’s pole vault by clearing 3.41m/11-2.25.
