Oral Roberts scored a pair of goals late in the first half on its way to a 2-0 shutout of Valparaiso on a cool Sunday afternoon at Eastgate Field.

Jessica Kellogg found the upper right portion of the net from 20 yards out on the left side, deflecting off of Kristen Templin's (Madison, Wis./Middleton H.S.) fingertips of her outstretched arms for her seventh goal of the season to put the Golden Eagles in front 1-0 at the 36:10 mark.

Oral Roberts struck again just before halftime as Jodi Kirkhuff took a cross from Kellogg and headed it home from five yards out to finish off the scoring at the 41:38 mark.

The Golden Eagles dominated the offensive chances in the first half, outshooting the Crusaders 10-2. Valpo turned it around in the second half, outshooting Oral Roberts 9-4. Templin made six saves between the pipes for the Crusaders, while Kellie Fenton made four saves for the Golden Eagles.

Valpo had three corner kicks to Oral Roberts two, but the Golden Eagles outfouled the Crusaders 26-13.

Valparaiso will return to action on Friday afternoon when the Crusaders travel to Bowling Green for a 3 p.m. CDT match.
