The Valparaiso University cross country program has announced its schedule for the 2021 season, which begins with the annual home meet on Friday, Sept. 3 at Sunset Hill Farm County Park in Valparaiso.
The Valparaiso University men’s and women’s cross country teams have earned recognition as All-Academic Teams from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their success in the classroom this year.
Valparaiso University men’s cross country sophomore Eric Carothers (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) received recognition for his success in competition and in the classroom on Wednesday as he was named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team.
Eric Carothers (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) provided the highlight of the day as the Valparaiso University men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to Evansville, Ind. to compete in the Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championships on Wednesday.
The Valparaiso University track & field and cross country teams were in action this weekend, tuning up for their respective conference championships. Valpo received numerous standout performances on Saturday as the distance runners participated in the GVSU Big Meet hosted by Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich., while the remainder of the squad made its way to Terre Haute, Ind. for the Indiana State Invitational.
Valparaiso University men’s distance runner Dominic Paoletti (Monroe, Mich. / Monroe St. Mary) was recognized for his noteworthy start to the season on Wednesday when he was named the Missouri Valley Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week.
The Valparaiso University distance runners competed in the Bill Clinger Classic on Friday afternoon at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich., opening up a unique spring semester of competition for the track and field and cross country programs.
