Soccer Announces Addition of Emma Paraskos

Outside back Emma Paraskos has signed with the Valpo soccer program and will join the Beacons as a freshman for the 2023 campaign, announced Valpo head coach John Marovich.

With the addition of Paraskos, Valpo now has seven players in its incoming freshmen class for the 2023 season.

Paraskos is a multiple-time All-Conference selection for the Blue Devils and earned All-Area accolades this past season from the Daily Herald. Also a standout in the classroom, Paraskos plans on studying health science at Valpo. She has picked up conference All-Academic accolades and received the IHSA Scholastic Achievement Award.

Paraskos on why she chose Valpo: “I chose Valparaiso University because it has one of the most competitive and comprehensive health programs in the country, which will allow me to pursue a top career in medicine. Valpo also has a top-tier soccer program which I know will allow me to compete every day and push my limits, and at the same time also provide long-lasting friendships due to the close-knit environment created by the coaching staff and players, which is what I’m most excited about.”

Marovich on Paraskos: “Emma’s quickness and competitiveness as an outside back gives her the ability to cover a lot of ground needed to get forward and recover defensively. She has good vision and comfort level to attack central spaces on the dribble and to connect the next pass. This fits into what we expect out of our flank players in the attack. She has a discipline defensively to get in good covering positions as well as rolling up on an attacking player.”
