The Valparaiso University women’s golf team took part in the final day of the Motor City Cup on Tuesday at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The event featured a tournament-style, match-play format as Valpo finished a match with Creighton and played the final match of the event against Northern Kentucky.

How It Happened

• Tiffany Curtis (Crown Point, Ind. / Crown Point) closed out her victory at the No. 4 position by topping Creighton’s Rachel Grenko 4&2. Valpo fell 5.0-1.0 in the match against the Bluejays that started on Monday before being suspended due to darkness.
• Northern Kentucky topped Valpo 6.0-0.0 in the seventh-place match. Kylie Shoemake (Schererville, Ind. / Lake Central) had the lead against Macy Wright for much of her match at the No. 1 slot, but Wright prevailed by going 2UP.
• Curtis came back from a four-hole deficit against Northern Kentucky’s Taylor Schwarz at the No. 4 position, but Schwarz edged out a 2&1 win after the 17^th hole.
