Sophomore Ryan Clarke (Hopatcong, N.J./Hopatcong) was named the Pioneer Football League's Offensive Player of the Week Sunday following his record-tying performance in Valpo's 42-35 win over Davidson yesterday.

Clarke entered Saturday's tilt with just 14 career completions, but played like a seasoned veteran as he connected with six different receivers for 244 yards and five touchdown tosses. Fellow sophomore Frank Catrine (Springboro, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick) hauled in half of Clarke's completions - nine for 135 yards - including two TDs. Clarke saved his biggest pass of the day for the final seconds of the game when he found Griffin Norberg (Sunrise, Fla./Western) in the flat for a 12-yard, game-winning score. Clarke's five touchdown passes tied a single-game program record.

The Crusaders (1-3, 1-1 PFL) travel to Des Moines, Iowa to face the Bulldogs next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. CT inside Drake Stadium. Links to the audio, pay video, and live stats are posted at ValpoAthletics.com.
