Valpo Basketball Tabbed for Three MVC TV Network Appearances

The Valparaiso University men’s basketball program will make three appearances on the Missouri Valley Conference Television Network this season, the league office announced on Friday.

The Valley wrapped up a week of announcing television plans by finalizing the docket for its regional television package, which will air on Bally Sports Network and NBC Sports Chicago. The Beacons will make their first MVC TV Network appearance of the season on Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. at UNI in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The program will be featured in a pair of MVC TV Network productions in a five-day span in mid-February, first on Feb. 12 at Missouri State in Springfield, Mo. at 3 p.m. and then on Feb. 16 vs. Loyola at the Athletics-Recreation Center at 7 p.m.

Earlier this week, the MVC announced that Valpo will make a pair of national television appearances in conference play this season – Dec. 2 at Drake on ESPNU and Jan. 11 at Loyola on CBS Sports Network. In addition, the Beacons will make four appearances on the conference-selected Valley on ESPN package. These games will air on ESPN3 or ESPN+ with MVC on-air talent:

Jan. 15 vs. Missouri State, 6 p.m.

Jan. 19 vs. UNI, 6 p.m.

Feb. 19 at Evansville, 5 p.m.

Feb. 23 vs. Drake, 6 p.m.

Valpo’s remaining MVC games will air on The Valley on ESPN3/+ with institution-selected TV talent. The program has also announced start times for its remaining home games. The Sunday, Jan. 2 game vs. Illinois State will begin at 1 p.m., the Wednesday, Feb. 16 game vs. Loyola will be at 7 p.m. and all remaining home conference games will tip off at 6 p.m.

Valpo is no stranger to television exposure, as by season’s end the program will have made at least 66 national television appearances since 2010-11. In addition, this team will have made at least 110 national or regional television appearances in that span.
