Valparaiso University sophomore middle hitter Taylor Graboski (Upper Sandusky, Ohio/Upper Sandusky) earned the first weekly award of her career from the Horizon League office on Monday, as she was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Week.
Graboski started the week with a solid effort out of the middle as part of one of the Crusaders’ best offensive attacks in recent history, tallying 10 kills on just 21 swings in the win over UIC while hitting .381. The sophomore then stepped up against Oakland on Friday, delivering a career-best 15 kills to lead the Crusaders against the Golden Grizzlies and hit at a .412 clip.
Over the pair of matches, Graboski averaged 3.13 kills/set on .400 hitting out of the middle. The sophomore, who was an All-Freshman Team selection last year, and the rest of the Crusaders return to action Friday evening as they host Milwaukee.
