Four Valpo Volleyball Players Named Academic All-District

The Valpo volleyball program had four players recognized as Academic All-District honorees as College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) released its women’s soccer Academic All-District roll on Tuesday.

Fifth-year Jillie Grant (Maumee, Ohio/Anthony Wayne) boasts a 3.843 GPA as an accounting major. Senior Bella Ravotto (Mishawaka, Ind./Marian) posted an undergraduate GPA of 3.935 in earning a bachelor’s in health care leadership and is currently pursuing a master’s in health administration. Senior Maddy Boyer (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) has a 3.792 GPA as a nursing major, while senior Gretchen Kuckkan (Lafayette, Ind./Central Catholic [Indiana State]) has a 4.00 GPA as an elementary education and complementary math major.

The quartet all meet CSC academic all-district standards by virtue of having a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better. To qualify for the honor, individuals also must be starters or important reserves, have reached at least sophomore academic and athletic status and must have been at their institution for at least one calendar year.

All four Beacons will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
