The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee scored three times in the first half and Valparaiso could not recover on Friday evening as the Panthers defeated the Crusaders 5-0 at Engelmann Field in Milwaukee, Wis.

Sarah Hagen scored the first of two goals on the evening at the 20:44 mark on a header off of a cross from Keara Thompson to break the scoreless deadlock and Makenzie Gillaspie added another header goal less than seven minutes later.

The Panthers took a 3-0 lead into the locker room following a goal from Thompson just before halftime as Milwaukee outshot Valpo 11-4 in the opening 45 minutes.

Hagen added another goal in the 61st minute and Megahan Elvington capped the scoring at the 82:31 mark.

Milwaukee outshot Valpo 21-5 on the evening, including an 11-1 edge on goal.  Kristen Manski (Saint Charles, Ill./North H.S.) and Stefanie Matsas (Elmhurst, Ill./York H.S.) each made three saves between the posts for the Crusaders, with each playing one half on the evening.

Leslie Deebach made the only save for Milwaukee (7-4-2, 3-0 Horizon).

Valparaiso (5-6-3, 1-3) will remain in Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon to battle Green Bay.  Kickoff is slated for noon.
