Three members of the Valpo women’s swimming program represented the Beacons on the Missouri Valley Conference Swimming & Diving Scholar-Athlete Team, as announced by the conference on Wednesday.
Junior Haley Hume (Ballwin, Mo./Marquette) received the recognition for a second consecutive season, as she owns a 3.983 GPA as a mechanical engineering major. Earning the honor for the first time are a pair of sophomores — Madi Boor (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) is enrolled in the physician’s assistant program as a health science major and has a 3.928 GPA, while Natalie Eaton (Tulsa, Okla./Jenks) is a communication and political science double major with a 3.909 GPA.
Members of the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team must be at least sophomores athletically and academically, and meet one of the following criteria: 3.5 GPA and a member of the MVC All-Conference Team, 3.7 GPA and a top-16 finish in an individual event at the MVC Championships, or 3.9 GPA and participation at the MVC Championships.
