The Valparaiso University men’s and women’s track & field teams finished out a two-day weekend of action at the Meyo Invitational, competing against stiff competition in a meet hosted by the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Ind.

How It Happened

• In the throws, Tori Gerhardt (Westville, Ind. / Chesterton) finished 12^th of 31 in the women’s weight throw with a heave of 16.16 meters (53-0.25). On the men’s side in that same event, Will Rinker (Valparaiso, Ind. / Chesterton) earned a PR at 15.88m (52-1.25).
• In the jumps, Micah Mullings (Minesing, Ontario, Canada / Barrie North) had a fifth-place finish in the triple jump at 14.41m.
• In the distance, Joseph Scheele (Mahomet, Ill. / Mahomet-Seymour) stopped the clock in 8:40.55 in the 3000, placing 12^th.
• Elsewhere on the track, Anthony Vassolo (Tinley Park, Ill. / Andrew) turned in a personal-best time of 50.85 in the 400.
