Rolf Named Horizon League Track Athlete of the Week
Laura Rolf won the 3,000m run on Friday at the Mike Lints Alumni Open.

The Horizon League named Crusader senior Laura Rolf (Rochester, Mich./Lutheran Northwest) its Women’s Track Athlete of the Week today after her winning effort last Friday at the Mike Lints Alumni Open in Allendale, Mich.

Rolf, making her return to the oval for the first time since the 2007 NCAA Indoor Championships, where she earned All-American honors in the mile, easily bested a field of 13 other runners in the 3,000m run Friday.  The senior crossed the line with a time of 9:51.17, nearly 50 seconds faster than the runner-up in the event.

Rolf and the rest of the Crusader squad will return to the track this Saturday, when they compete at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan.  The first event is slated for a 9 a.m. CST start.
