In head coach Dave Gring’s long tenure leading the Valparaiso University men’s golf program, the Beacons have been a model of consistency in the classroom.

As the program has reached new athletic heights in recent years, it has also sustained its tradition of academic excellence. The squad achieved the 2022-23 Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Outstanding Team Academic Award again this season, earning President’s Special Recognition by boasting a team cumulative grade point average above 3.5.

This marks the 13^th consecutive season that Valpo has garnered the all-academic distinction. This news comes on the heels of four members of the program being named GCAA All-American Scholars last week. In addition, the Beacons boasted the first Academic All-American in program history this year as Caleb VanArragon earned a CSC First Team selection.
