Valpo Drops Dual Meet 71-46 at Xavier

Valpo ventured to Cincinnati, Ohio for their first dual meet of the season, but fell to Xavier 71-46.

Freshman Tina Vande Vusse (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) won a pair of events for the Crusaders, winning the 50 freestyle in 25.16 and the 100 freestyle in 55.19

Vande Vusse was not the only Crusader to win a freestyle event, as Amanda Gregory (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) won the 200 freestyle in 2:01.70 and the relay team of Gregory, Leah Scheider (Sussex, Wis./Arrowhead), Rachel Korellis (Champaign, Ill./Centennial), and Caitlin Kerr (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:45.81.

Shannon McDonald (Crown Point, Ind./Marian Catholic) won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:25.34 and Scheider won the 100 butterfly in 1:03.21.

The Crusaders (0-1) will continue their season Sunday in Indianapolis when they take on Butler, Saint Louis and Evansville.
