The weekly awards continued to pour in for the Valparaiso University women’s tennis team on Tuesday.

Valpo’s top doubles tandem of Claire Czerwonka (Kenosha, Wis. / Saint Joseph Catholic Academy) and Jelena Vujanic (Elk Grove Village, Ill. / Elk Grove) garnered the conference’s Doubles Team of the Week.

Valpo's all-freshman doubles duo sustained its success at the No. 1 position on Friday as Czerwonka and Vujanic picked up a convincing 6-1 win over Northern Kentucky's top doubles team of Taylor Culbertson and Maria Koo. Czerwonka is pacing the squad with 12 doubles wins, while Vujanic is second on the team with 10. The two are 6-2 as a pair.

This marks the second time this season Czerwonka and Vujanic have won the Doubles Team of the Week award together, as they also enjoyed that honor on Feb. 20. Czerwonka also shared the Doubles Team of the Week with Sysouvanh on Jan. 23.

In addition, Czerwonka has two MVC Singles Player of the Week awards and Vujanic has one, bringing Valpo’s total to six MVC weekly awards this season. That total ranks second behind only Drake in the conference.

Valpo will be back in action on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. CT at UIC. That match has been moved indoors due to weather and will be played at XS Tennis.
