Walda Shatters Program Record in 10K, Leads Three Beacons Under Previous Record at NCAA Regional
Valparaiso University men’s cross country senior Evan Walda (Fort Wayne, Ind. / South Side) added to his breakout fall in a big way on Friday afternoon, shattering the program record in the 10K at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, hosted by Wisconsin in Madison, Wis. Walda led a trio of Beacons who all outdid the previous program record on Friday and now own the top three times in program history.

Aurand Cracks Top 5 in Program History, Walda Paces Valpo Men
The Valparaiso University men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, hosted by Belmont on Friday at Percy Warner State Park in Nashville. Grace Aurand (Highland, Ind. / Highland) became the first Valpo woman in nearly a decade to crack the program’s all-time top-5, while Evan Walda (Fort Wayne, Ind. / South Side) once again paced the Valpo men.

Walda Breaks Program Record at Bradley Pink Classic
Despite running through rainy and muddy conditions, Valparaiso University men’s cross country senior Evan Walda (Fort Wayne, Ind. / South Side) put together the fastest performance in program history, shattering the previous record in the 8K at Friday’s Bradley Pink Classic, hosted by the Braves at Newman Golf Course in Peoria, Ill.

Reigning Missouri Valley Conference Runner of the Week Evan Walda (Fort Wayne, Ind. / South Side) once again paced the Valparaiso University men’s cross country team on Friday evening at the Redbird Invite, hosted by Illinois State in Normal, Ill. His performance helped the Valpo men finish fourth of 12, while the women’s team was led by Grace Aurand (Highland, Ind. / Highland)

Walda Named MVC Runner of the Week
Valparaiso University men’s cross country senior Evan Walda (Fort Wayne, Ind. / South Side) was recognized for his strong start to the season on Wednesday, when he was named Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Runner of the Week by the league office.

Walda Top-3 Finish Paces Valpo at Winrow Open
The Valparaiso University cross country season is off and running after the Beacons hosted their annual home meet, the Winrow Open, on Friday evening at Sunset Hill Farm County Park in Valparaiso. The top showing of the day came courtesy of senior Evan Walda (Fort Wayne, Ind. / South Side), who placed third overall and second among those who counted toward team scoring despite racing in a competitive field that included instate foes Purdue and Notre Dame.
