The Valparaiso women’s golf team continued their spring break trek through Florida on Wednesday at the Bulldog Florida Invitational hosted by Butler University at Windsor Parke Golf Course. The Crusaders finished the first round in fourth place with a score of 337.
Picking up right where they left off on Tuesday at the nearby Benbow Invitational, the duo of Sibil Gill (Kokomo, Ind./Western) and Angie Kim (Schaumburg, Ill./Fremd) led the way with matching 82’s and ended the round in a tie for 12th place.
Sydney Shrum (Cloverdale, Ind./Cloverdale) carded an 86 to finish the day in a tie for 26th while Angie Gaugert (Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger) finished two strokes and two spots back of her.
Kiana Jongsma (Dyer, Ind./Lake Central) and A.J. Selig (Hortonville, Wis./Appleton West) rounded out the scoring for the Crusaders, shooting a 92 (40th) and a 98 (45th), respectively.
Valpo returns to Windsor Parke on Thursday for the conclusion of the Bulldog Florida Invitational.
