Bartholomew, Honig Compete at NCAA Mideast Regional
Steve Bartholomew (Valparaiso, Ind./Morgan Township) registered two top-20 finishes Saturday at the NCAA Mideast Regional in Fayetteville, Ark., while Chris Honig (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South [Indiana]) recorded a top-20 placement of his own as the duo represented the Crusader men’s track and field squad.

Another School Record Falls as Crusaders Close Out Horizon League Outdoor Championships
Philip Lohrmann (Battle Ground, Wash./Battle Ground [Clark C.C.]) set a new school record in the pole vault Friday in Youngstown, Ohio as the Valparaiso men’s track and field team concluded the Horizon League Outdoor Championships in seventh place. Steve Bartholomew (Valparaiso, Ind./Morgan Township) was named the Championships’ Outstanding Field Performer, replicating his honor from the Indoor Championships, after winning both the discus throw and hammer throw Thursday.

Three Event Victories Put Valpo in Second Place After Day One of Horizon League Championships
Steve Bartholomew (Valparaiso, Ind./Morgan Township) set a school and Horizon League Championship record in the hammer throw Thursday and also won the discus throw, while Chris Honig (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South [Indiana]) crossed the line first in the 3,000m steeplechase as the Valparaiso men’s track and field team competed on day one of the Horizon League Outdoor Championships in Youngstown, Ohio.

The Valparaiso men’s track and field team beat Loyola (73-49) and Chicago State (81-46), but lost to Milwaukee (81-54) and UIC (70-63) at the Panther Tune-Up Friday evening in Milwaukee, Wis., scored as dual meets. Valparaiso men’s and women’s track and field head coach Ryan Moore has announced the Crusaders’ 2007-2008 indoor and outdoor schedules. The season begins this Saturday, December 8, as the Crusaders travel to Normal, Ill. to participate in the Redbird Open.
