Valpo Men’s Swimming Places 11 on Academic All-MAC Team
The Valpo men’s swimming team was well represented as the Mid-American Conference announced its men’s swimming and diving Academic All-MAC Team on Wednesday morning, as 11 Beacons were among the 77 total honorees.

MVC to Sponsor Men's Swimming & Diving in 2024-25
The Missouri Valley Conference has announced it will sponsor men's swimming & diving for the 2024-25 season. The MVC first sponsored men's swimming a century ago, with the first championship in 1924. The MVC has not sponsored men's swimming since 2002-03. Notably, the Conference has sponsored women's swimming every year since 1983.

The Valpo men’s and women’s swimming teams combined to have eight swimmers recognized as Academic All-District honorees as College Sports Communicators released its swimming Academic All-District rolls on Tuesday.

Another Record Falls as Men’s Swimming Closes Strong at MAC Championships
A second school record in as many days for sophomore Anthony Martin (Bartlett, Ill./Bartlett) was the highlight of the final day of competition for the Valpo men’s swimming team at the MAC Championships in Carbondale, Ill., the culmination of a four-day event which featured numerous swims ranking among the best in program history.

Oostman Sets Two More Records, Beacons Continue Strong Swims at MAC Championships
Valpo men’s swimming sophomore Jackson Oostman (Aurora, Ill./Marmion Academy) followed one school-record swim on Wednesday with a pair of record-setting times on Thursday on the second day of action at the MAC Championships in Carbondale, Ill., the highlight of a day which saw the Beacons post five top-five times in program history.

Valpo Swimmers Close Weekend Sunday at Butler Invitational
The Valpo men’s and women’s swimming teams concluded a two-meet weekend Sunday afternoon, competing at the Butler Invitational in Fishers, Ind. Sophomore Matthew Mantz (Spokane, Wash./Mead) cracked the Beacons’ record book in the 1000 free with his opening split in the 1650.

Senior Meet Success for Swimming Friday
The Valpo swimming senior class was recognized on Friday evening at the Valparaiso Aquatic Center prior to the final home meet of their collegiate careers, and once the swimming got underway, the Beacons enjoyed a successful meet, as the men defeated Bethel 144-76, while the women battled Bethel to a 102-102 tie. The dual meet win was the men’s fourth victory of the season, the most in a single year by a Valpo men’s team since at least 2000-01.

Oostman Named MAC Co-Swimmer of the Week
Valpo sophomore Jackson Oostman (Aurora, Ill./Marmion Academy) was recognized as the Mid-American Conference Co-Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday after recording four individual event wins last weekend to lead the Beacons to a 2-1 record.

Swimming Finishes Busy Weekend of Competition
Taking advantage of the University being on fall break, the Valpo men’s and women’s swimming teams took to the pool for a pair of road meets this weekend. The Beacons competed first at IUPUI in a dual meet on Friday afternoon before turning around for a tri-meet at Evansville and against Southern Indiana on Saturday afternoon.

Swimming Sweeps Dual Meet Over Southern Indiana Saturday
The Valpo men’s and women’s swimming teams got the 2023-24 campaign off to a strong start Saturday at the Valparaiso Aquatic Center, as both squads picked up dual meet wins over Southern Indiana and three individuals impacted the program’s record books. The Valpo men bested USI, 159-103, while the women edged the Screaming Eagles, 136-126.

Valpo Swimming Announces 2023-24 Schedule
The Valpo men’s and women’s swimming teams will take to the pool 12 times over the next five-plus months in preparation for their respective conference championship meets, as head coach Maggie Kroemer announced the Beacons’ 2023-24 schedule today.
