The Valparaiso University bowling team kicked off its second tournament of the season on Friday in Fairview Heights, Ill., finishing the day in 12th place in the 16-team field at the Bearcat Hammer Open, hosted by McKendree.

Valpo strugged in the five-game baker format on Friday, going just 1-4 on the day. The Brown and Gold posted a high match of 914 in the day's finale, closing the day with 4,371 pins - just 11 pins out of 11th.
