Three Beacons Among Top 5 at MVC Championship
Three members of the Valparaiso University men’s golf program were among the top-5 finishers as the Beacons completed the third and final round of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on Tuesday at the par-72, 7060-yard Club at Porto Cima in Sunrise Beach, Mo. Junior Anthony Delisanti (Sanborn, N.Y. / Niagara Wheatfield) climbed six spots on the leaderboard to finish third thanks to a stellar final round, while fifth-year senior Caleb VanArragon (Blaine, Minn. / Blaine) closed out a runner-up finish among 50 competitors in his final league tournament.

Valpo Owns Two of Top Three on Player Leaderboard Through Two Rounds at MVC Championship
A pair of Valparaiso University men’s golfers are among the top three on the player leaderboard and a trio are in position for top-10 finishes at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, which held its second of three rounds on Monday at the par-72, 7060-yard Club at Porto Cima in Sunrise Beach, Mo. Stalwarts Caleb VanArragon (Blaine, Minn. / Blaine) and Anthony Delisanti (Sanborn, N.Y. / Niagara Wheatfield) are among the tournament leaders, but freshman Adam Melliere (Zionsville, Ind. / Zionsville) has been a surprise story of the tournament as he currently sits in second.

VanArragon Rallies for Medalist Honors at Rutherford Intercollegiate
After finishing the first round tied for 13th and the second round tied for seventh, Valparaiso University men’s golf fifth-year senior continued his climb on the leaderboard during Sunday’s third and final round of the Rutherford Intercollegiate, hosted by Penn State at the par-71, 7171-yard Penn State Blue Course in State College, Pa. In fact, VanArragon climbed all the way into the top spot in the 78-player field, earning medalist honors to pace the Beacons.

With 18 holes remaining entering Sunday, Valparaiso University men’s golf junior Anthony Delisanti (Sanborn, N.Y. / Niagara Wheatfield) is in a battle for medalist honors as he is tied for the top spot in a 78-player field at Penn State’s Rutherford Intercollegiate. The tournament’s first two rounds took place through windy conditions on Saturday at the par-71, 7171-yard Penn State Blue Course in State College, Pa.

VanArragon Closes Out Top-10 Finish at Hoosier Collegiate
Valparaiso University men’s golf fifth-year senior Caleb VanArragon (Blaine, Minn. / Blaine) closed out another top-10 finish, this time pacing the team at the Hoosier Collegiate, which was hosted by Indiana University at the par-71, 7355-yard Pfau Course in a windy and chilly Bloomington, Ind. this weekend. The teams finished the final few holes in the second round, which was suspended by darkness on Saturday, and then golfed the third and final round of the event on Sunday.

VanArragon, Delisanti in Top 5 After Day 1 of Hoosier Collegiate
Two members of the Valparaiso University men’s golf team are in the top five in a very strong field after one day of the Hoosier Collegiate, hosted by Indiana University at the par-71, 7355-yard Pfau Course in Bloomington, Ind. After frost delayed the start of the morning round, the teams golfed the first round in its entirety, and the second round was halted with four to five holes remaining due to darkness. Play will resume at 8:30 a.m. CT / 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday and the third round will be continuous play at the conclusion of Round 2.

Valpo Finishes as Team Runner-Up After Final Round Rained Out
The Valparaiso University men’s golf team finished tied for second in a 19-team field at this week’s Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate, hosted at the par-72, 6940-yard True Blue Golf Course in Pawleys Island, S.C. Wednesday’s final round was rained out when the skies opened up midway through the round, causing the final scores to revert back to the scores through two rounds.

VanArragon Wins Medalist Honors in Dramatic Fashion at Mobile Bay Intercollegiate
Valparaiso University men’s golf fifth-year senior Caleb VanArragon (Blaine, Minn. / Blaine) added another feat to his ever-growing legacy on Tuesday, winning medalist honors in the 80-player Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, hosted by South Alabama this week at RTJ Magnolia Grove in Mobile, Ala. VanArragon drained a 12-foot birdie on the last hole to edge Oral Roberts’ Rocco Repetto Taylor by one stroke for the tournament title.

VanArragon Rises on Leaderboard on Day 2 in Mobile
Valparaiso University men’s golf senior Caleb VanArragon (Blaine, Minn. / Blaine) rose to the top spot on the player leaderboard by the end of play on Monday as the teams played the second round and began the third round at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, hosted by South Alabama at the RTJ Magnolia Grove in Mobile, Ala. The teams began Round 3 to get out in front of potential inclement weather on Tuesday, golfing nine more holes and leaving nine remaining for Tuesday.

Fifth-year senior Caleb VanArragon (Blaine, Minn. / Blaine) added another top-2 finish to his distinguished career by sharing runner-up honors in a 93-player field as the GCU Invite concluded on Wednesday. The 54-hole event was hosted by the Lopes at the par-71, 7124-yard GCU Golf Course in Phoenix. The Beacons competed in a strong field that featured three teams ranked in the top 100 nationally (GCU, Washington State, Cal State Fullerton) and five in the top 150 (Pacific, Creighton).

The Valparaiso University men’s golf team will not take the course as scheduled on Tuesday as the final round of the Dorado Beach Collegiate in Dorado, P.R. has been canceled due to rain. The course is saturated after heavy overnight rain and the tournament has been cut short due to unplayable course conditions.

The Valparaiso University men’s golf team finished out the program’s first ever tournament held outside of the United States on Saturday, golfing the final 27 holes of the 54-hole Monterrey Collegiate Classic, hosted by George Washington at the par-72, 3483-yard Mitras Club Campestre Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico this weekend. Anthony Delisanti (Sanborn, N.Y. / Niagara Wheatfield) capped a top-3 finish in a quality field that featured 62 players from 10 programs. The team posted its best 54-hole tournament score in nine years, finishing the fall season on a positive note.

Despite competing without the services of two of the squad’s top three golfers, the Valparaiso University men’s golf team holds the top spot with one round remaining at the Valpo Fall Invitational, which began on Monday with the first two rounds at the par-72, 7054-yard Sand Creek Country Club course in Chesterton, Ind. Fifth-year senior Caleb VanArragon (Blaine, Minn. / Blaine) pulled away from the rest of the tournament field on the first day of the event, leading a Valpo lineup that played without junior Anthony Delisanti (Sanborn, N.Y. / Niagara Wheatfield) due to illness and senior Mason Bonn (Sherwood, Ore. / Sherwood) due to an injury.
