Crusader Men's Basketball to Host Summer Camps

Valparaiso’s men’s basketball team will be hosting three basketball camps this summer for youths of all ages and skill levels.

From June 23-26, Valpo will be hosting two separate camps.  The Valpo Mini Camp will be held from 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and is intended for children ages 5-7.  It will feature daily contests and games and costs $115 per camper.

The Valpo Basketball School runs from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon each day and is intended for children ages 8-14.  The camp will contain daily lectures and teaching sessions, fundamental stations, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 game action and daily contests and prizes.  It will cost $165 per camper.

The Valpo Basketball Academy will be held from Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 1, and is for youths ages 8-14.  The camp will run from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day, and costs $295 per player.  The days will include teaching sessions and lectures by Crusader players and coaches, fundamental stations, 5-on-5 games, a 3-on-3 league and daily contests and prizes.

The Valparaiso University women's basketball program is excited to announce three summer camp dates.

Camp directors Katie Loosvelt and Renee' Turpa will head all three with the first being the Day Camp from June 16th-19th. Running from 9:00am to noon each day, the Day Camp will emphasize developmental skills, feature daily competitions, and award prizes. The camp is intended for girls in grades 3-8 and the cost is $100 for the four day session. 

Beginning on June 19th is the two-day Elite Camp. The Elite Camp is conducted similar to a collegiate practice and is intended for high-school aged players. Drills and competition underline the high-intensity overnight camp that begins at noon on the 19th and ends at 2:00 pm on the 20th. The cost is $100 per camper.

The highlight of the camp season is the Team Shootout held on June 27th. Licensed officials will be provided for the Overtime Tournament which features a three-game guarantee. The price is $350 per team.

Camp t-shirts will be provided to all participants.

The Valparaiso baseball program has added a camp to its summer schedule.

The three day camp will run from June 23rd-25th. It will cover technique and fundamentals for kids in grades K-8. The morning (9 am-12 pm) will serve as the "skills camp" portion while the afternoon (1 pm-3 pm) will be the "game camp."
