Monday, June 6, 2005
CHICAGO ? Since Kenny Harris was transferred to the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) on May 11, he has made significant progress his family has announced.

His team of physicians and therapists are aggressively working with him on a daily basis.

He is expected to be released from RIC in mid- June.

Founded in 1954, RIC has earned a worldwide reputation as being a leader in patient care, advocacy, research and educating health professionals in physical medicine and rehabilitation. People from around the globe choose RIC because of the expertise in treating a range of conditions, from the most complex conditions including cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, stroke and traumatic brain injury, to the more common, such as arthritis, chronic pain and sports injuries. Many people also come to RIC because of the specialized services, including Assistive Technology, Prosthetics and Orthotics and Vocational Rehabilitation which help individuals lead more independent and fulfilling lives. Another reason people choose RIC is because of the ability to provide rehabilitation care for patients of all ages - from children to adults.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their continuous thoughts and prayers.

Harris, a sophomore in 2004-05, was hospitalized on April 11 after collapsing while participating in weight training exercises.
