Friday, March 09, 2007

Valparaiso University head men's basketball coach Homer Drew announced today that Keaton Frye (Eldridge, Iowa/North Scott) has been granted a release from his commitment to the Crusader basketball program and will be transferring to Augustana College. Frye, a 6'4" guard, saw action in nine games as a freshman for the Crusaders, scoring six points.

?Our entire program wishes Keaton much success at Augustana," said Drew. ?He is a wonderful young man with an excellent family and we will miss all of them."

?I really enjoyed my time at Valpo," said Frye. ?Getting to play against some of the nation's best teams and being around guys who exhibit top-notch leadership made this the best basketball experience of my life. The teammates and coaches at Valpo are second to none."
