MVC Announces Basketball Package on ESPN Networks, Valpo MBB MVC Opener Set for ESPNU

The Missouri Valley Conference began the announcement of its 2022-2023 basketball television plans on Tuesday by revealing the slate of games that will air on the ESPN family of networks. The Valparaiso University men’s basketball program will open conference play on national television with an ESPNU appearance on Thursday, Dec. 1 at Belmont at 7 p.m. in Nashville, Tenn.

The game between the Beacons and Bruins will represent the hosts’ first league contest as a member of The Valley.

Eight other Valpo games are being considered for ESPN linear distribution as part of a wildcard selection process. Broadcast information for those games will be announced 14 days out from competition.

In addition, a pair of Valpo men’s games will air on The Valley on ESPN Exclusive as part of the conference-selected package on ESPN3/+. For these games, the league will supply the on-air broadcast talent. Those contests will be on Sunday, Dec. 4 vs. Murray State at 1 p.m. at the ARC and Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. vs. UIC at the ARC.

In addition, the MVC has announced one Valpo women’s game that will be part of The Valley on ESPN Exclusive package on ESPN3/+ with conference-assigned broadcast talent. That contest will take place on Jan. 7 vs. Indiana State at 1 p.m. at the ARC.

The league office will continue to announce television designations later this week.
