Krikke, King Named to Hostilo Community Classic All-Tournament Team

Two members of the Valparaiso University men’s basketball program received All-Tournament Team nods following their performances at the Hostilo Community Classic in Savannah, Ga. this weekend.

Ben Krikke (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada / Jasper Place) and Kobe King (La Crosse, Wis. / La Crosse Central [Wisconsin]) were both recognized as all-tournament team selections.

Krikke averaged 17.5 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per contest – both team highs – in his two outings in Savannah. King was close behind in the scoring column with 17.0 points per game. Both players shot at an efficient clip of over 50 percent.

King tallied a team-high 18 points against South Dakota State on Friday before adding 16 in Sunday’s overtime victory vs. James Madison. Krikke was a rebound shy of a double-double against the Jackrabbits before pouring in a game-high 23 points in the win over the Dukes.

Valpo will be back in action on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Belmont to open Missouri Valley Conference play in a nationally-televised game on ESPNU.
