MVC Reveals 2023-24 Conference Men's Basketball Slate

The Missouri Valley Conference has revealed the 2023-24 league basketball schedule, which will feature a 20-game journey for each team leading into the 2024 State Farm MVC Tournament from March 7-10 at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis.

For the second straight year, each team will play a pair of early conference games the week after Thanksgiving. Valpo will tip off the league slate on Wednesday, Nov. 29 vs. Drake at the Athletics-Recreation Center before rounding out the early week of league action with a trip to Nashville, Tenn. to visit Belmont on Dec. 2.

After the first two league outings, the Beacons will play their final five nonconference games to round out the calendar year before starting 2024 with the first of 18 straight league games to close out the season on Jan. 3 vs. Bradley at the ARC. Valpo will play the Braves and Murray State (Feb. 24 on the road) once each while playing each of the other nine teams in full home-and-home series.

Four straight home conference games will be on Saturday nights in late January and early February, including games against Missouri State (Jan. 27), Evansville (Feb. 3) and Belmont (Feb. 10). The regular season will conclude with a home game against Illinois State on Sunday, March 3.

This will mark the first season of head coach Roger Powell Jr.’s leadership of the Valpo basketball program. The nonconference schedule was released last month.
